Happy New Year!

I often find that even though I stamp a ton of Christmas cards, I never get them out in time. That’s why there’s a plan B…New Year’s cards! Thank goodness! I love how this one came together. To create it, I just used 1/2″ strips of the brushed metallic foil cardstock and pieced all three colors together for a rich look. You can see the progression below.

I usually start a just to the side of the corners, then work my way from there.

You can cut off the edges and use the rest of the strip to complete the card.

To complete it, you’ll emboss the desired image in gold or copper or both for that matter. On my card, I used the stamps from the Peace & Joy stamp set, but this will be gone as of January 4th, so you’ll need to hurry if you want this wonderful set.

Next, I cut out the word Happy using the dies from the Playful Alphabet. Then finally, I popped up the cardstock using dimensionals and attached the words New Years cut with the Word Wishes dies. It’s a pretty straight-forward card, but then those are the ones I like best!

Dimensions:
Black: 8-1/2″ X 5-1/2″
White: 4-1/4″ X 5-1/4″ and 4-1/2″ X 3-1/4″
