Decorate in SU Style

Thanks for joining us on this first-ever home decor blog hop.  I’m excited to be a part of it as I love using my stamps for home decor!  Today I wanted to share a piece I had a great deal of fun creating…of course, much of the fun was found in the attaining the corks inside the frame!

Creating this is really very simple…

1.  Obtain the frame from Michaels….

2.  To create the brick background, use embossing paste and die it with Basic Gray refill.  Use the brick mask and apply a thin coat of the paste.  I didn’t want a perfect look, so I moved the mask accordingly.

3.  Using images from the Half Full stamp set, I created both the top corner and bottom corner images.  I did emboss the images in black.  To color, I used our Stampin’ Blends (love these markers!)  The cut out came from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.

Note:  to create the colored pearls, I used the Rich Razzleberry Dark Stampin’ Blend and colored them!

4. If you look close, you’ll see I also cut 2 doilies in half and embossed them in black to add the border along the bottom.

5.  I added a piece of the Rich Razzleberry velvet ribbon, and voila!

  1. You just gave me an idea for the perfect birthday gift for my sister….the wine lover.

  2. Love this idea! We have collected Champagne Corks from many family celebrations and this would be the perfect way of storing our memories. TFS xx

  3. What a cool project. Combining the corks and the paper crafting together is really nice.

  4. Amazing project. I love the brick texture for the background. What a wonderful way to display a fun memory. The corks add the perfect touch. 🙂
