Oval Frame With Vinyl Decor Flowers

Created by Kathy Alt

This was my first attempt at creating vinyl decor with my Big Shot and I must say, it was very easy!

Big Shot Dies:  Scallop Oval, Blossom Party, Polka Dot Embossing Folder

  1. Cut the oval out of the designer paper.  Be careful with this as the paper has to lie diagonally.
  2. I have already cut the white frame, run this through the Big Shot in the polka dot embossing folder.
  3. To add the white frame to the designer paper, you will need to use the 2 small scraps of CS and put adhesive on them.  Place them so that they span the opening where the frame is going to be.  Then place the frame on top of the adhesive.  You will also be adding sticky strip along the bottom and the side corners as shown.  This will create a pocket to slide your picture into.

4.  You are now going to create vinyl decals that could also be used on your walls, but we are adding them to the picture frame.

5. First, cut out 3 of the small daisy and 3 of the centers from the Blossom Party Die.

6.  Using the dotto, (temporary adhesive), place the 3 dots on a scrap of CS and emboss white dots using the versamark and white embossing powder.  Be sure to use the embossing buddy first! Also, do not overheat when embossing.  Remove centers from CS.

7.  To change the die cuts to vinyl clings, complete the following steps.

*Place the flower, right-side up on the table. (Backing paper should be down.)

*Remove the backing from the backing sheet, keep the sticky side and lay it over the flower.  Rub this firmly

to adhere to the flower.

*Repeat this with the centers and the other flowers.

*To adhere the image to the frame surface, peel off the back of the vinyl and place on the frame.

* Use the tool to rub over the top of the image.

* Carefully pull off the backing sheet from the vinyl image.  It works best to pull down at an angle.

* Add the centers the same way.
