This is a fun technique that I learned at Leadership in Phoenix. Creating the rosette flower is easy to do.
Stamp Set: Vintage Labels (Sale-a-bration)
Punches: Eyelet Border, 1 3/8″ circle, crop-a-dile, curly label
Big Shot Dies: Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Top Note, Small Oval
To create the flower:
- Punch two strips of the white CS ( 1″ X 12″) using the eyelet border punch
- Run these strips through the crimper 3 times.

- Pinch the ridges created by the crimper together

- Punch a 1 3/8” circle
- Cover this circle with sticky strip.

- Place crimped piece around the circle starting on the outside first. You will most likely want to add a portion of the second strip.

- If you choose a button for the center, apply with a dimensional.
- If you add a brad, you will want to punch the center with the piercing tool.
To create the leaves:
- Punch out 2 small ovals
- Run these through the crimper
- Use the bone folder to crease a center fold
To create the background:
- Using the Big Shot punch out the Top Note out of red CS
- Run this punched out piece back through the Big Shot inside the polka dots embossing folder.
Sandwich for Die: Clear cutting mat, Die, CS, Clear cutting mat
Sandwich for the embossing folder: platform with Tab 2 opened, clear cutting mat, embossing folder with CS inside, clear cutting mat.
Finishing the card:
- Be sure to attach the flower and leaves using sticky strip.
- Attach the saying using dimensionals
*Don’t be afraid to try a variety of CS and Designer Papers. These rosettes come out different every time!
